The 15th Annual John Freeman Invitational Cross-Country meet was hosted at The Webb School on Sept. 5.  Twenty-three high schools and twenty-one middle schools competed in the event.

In the boys' varsity race, Aaron Kiser (Webb) finished with a time of 21:50, and Captain Justin Zhu (Webb)  with a time of 22:48. In the combined middle school race, Cooper Meddling (Webb) finished  with a time of 12:55, while Webb's Tenshow Li had a time of 13:05.

John Freeman was a Webb student and cross-country runner killed in a car accident in 2003 while on his way to school. This event has been supported in his memory by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Bill Freeman, of Tullahoma.

"The Webb Feet had a fantastic day today at the John Freeman Invitational,” said Head Coach Daiva Berzinskas. “Given the number of teams and the level of competition, runners finished with spectacular results. Many ran their personal best records today. They really worked together and pulled each other in to run a fine race."
