Webb's varsity girls' basketball team won the TSSAA Div. II-A District Championship -- a first for Webb. The team defeated Providence Christian Academy, 57-48, at Webb on Feb. 13. The team advances to the Regional Tournament slated next week.

"I'm very, very proud of our girls and their championship," said Scott Dorsett, Director of Athletics, "the first one for the girls' basketball program in the school's history."

Webb led 10-6 after the first quarter, 24-20 at the half and 38-29 at the end of the third period enroute to the win.

Shanice Simpson-Whiteley led Webb scorers with 18 points. LaShae Dwyer scored 16, Lauren Vann 10, Ava Butts 6, including 1 three-pointer, Brookelyn Pedigo 4 and Sanai Thomas 3.
