The sixth graders in A.J. Swafford's science class had an engineering competition to see who could build a structure to hold the most weight from the middle while spanning 53 inches from table to table. They had a limited number of supplies and were able to use and change ideas as the process went along.

"They did a great job!" Swafford said.
