Susan Coop Howell of Bell Buckle, The Webb School archivist and library assistant, recently completed the Tennessee Archives Institute program in November, earning the designation of Certified Archives Manager. During a three-year cycle of instruction, she received training and hands-on experience on how to take care of and preserve historical records and documents. This program is made available through the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville.

"After taking on the task of archivist in 2012, I needed some training, and this program was a good option," said Howell. "I love the archival work and also learning more and more about Webb history. It's always fun and interesting when I come across some new Webb story or a new piece of information."

Howell, with 25 years of service at Webb, added, "Having been at Webb a long time, I've learned that I have several familial connections with Webb history. My most recent discovery was when I opened a ledger book and found my great-grandfather's name on the list. I had no idea that he had ever attended Webb, but it was an exciting discovery for me!"
