The College Counseling office will offer programs for Upper School parents on Sept. 20 in Shelbyville and on Sept. 25 in Murfreesboro from 7-9 p.m.
Both programs will feature a university admissions dean speaking on "What's Important in College Admission" following introductory remarks from Bruce Hunter, director of college counseling, and Jamie Newberg, assistant director of college counseling.
J. Carey Thompson, Rhodes College vice president for enrollment and communications and dean of admission, will speak at the Shelbyville event on Sept. 20 at the River Bend Country Club, 245 Riverbend Road, Shelbyville. Thompson holds degrees from Furman University, Greenville, S.C. and from Vanderbilt, and he has headed the admissions offices at Furman and at Centre College, Danville, Ky.
Nate Crozier, University of Richmond executive director of admission, will speak at the Murfreesboro event on Sept. 25 at the Parthenon Grille, 1962 South Church Street, Murfreesboro. Crozier holds degrees from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa., and from George Washington University, DC, and he has worked in admissions at University of Chicago, DePaul, and GWU.
