Founded in 1870, The Webb School is a private boarding school in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Students from grades 6 - 12 come seeking college preparatory school education in liberal arts at Webb from all over the world. With 10 Rhodes Scholars among its graduates and consistently high SAT scores, The Webb School has a reputation of being one of the top private schools in the nation. The school presently offers 23 Advanced Placement classes. Director of Parent Giving and Donor Relations

The Director of Parent Giving and Donor Relations serves as the primary staff member within Alumni and Development for fundraising with current parents and families, along with stewardship of named endowed funds. It also involves planning and managing two annual fundraising mini-campaigns: the fall "Five-Week Campaign" and the winter "Belles and Buckles Gala". In addition, this position includes a portfolio of donors to be solicited and stewarded each year. The position involves all aspects of external relations, including face-to-face fundraising. It is a full-time, salaried position.

Primary duties and responsibilities

Plan and execute the fall "Five-Week" campaign for soliciting parents and others in the Webb community for participation in the annual fund

Manage a portfolio of donors, including face-to-face visits and travel overnight (5-10 nights per year) focusing primarily on leadership giving to The Webb Fund ($1,000+)

Organize and manage the "Belles and Buckles Gala" special fundraising event which provides faculty and staff bonuses. Planning to be coordinated with Webb School Parents' Association (WSPA) volunteers and with the Parent Liaison in the Office of Admissions

Facilitate annual stewardship activities between donors and recipients of endowed funds

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3-5 years fundraising experience, or related experiences
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, computer, and writing skills
  • Familiarity with, and appreciation for the mission and culture of an independent school
