Webb W.I.L.D. Camp

W.I.L.D. — Wilderness Instruction and Leadership Development — is a signature program at The Webb School. This overnight camp will give 20 young campers (rising 5th - 8th graders) the opportunity to experience a week of outdoor adventures led by the director of Webb's W.I.L.D. program. If you love the outdoors, this camp is for you!

W.I.L.D. Camp Activities

Gear Selection

All backpacking gear, sleeping bags, and tents will be provided by Webb's W.I.L.D. program.

Camping

Campers will spend four nights of camping and learn outdoor skills from Webb's Director of W.I.L.D. program.

Scenic Hikes

This camp will include trips around Middle Tennessee's scenic rivers and hiking trails, including Great Stone Door Overlook and The Walls of Jericho.

Canoeing

Be prepared to have some fun canoeing down the river and exploring Middle Tennessee's waterways.

  • Day-hike Stone Door Overlook and Laurel Fall or Greeter Falls
  • Cook Dinner & Fire Talk/Lesson

  • Cook Breakfast
  • Drive out to the Duck River (or Sequatchie River)
  • Canoe Talk
  • Lunch on the river
  • Return to Basecamp/Cook Dinner
  • Knot Talk/Lesson
Wednesday
  • Cook Breakfast
  • Drive out to the Fiery Gizzard - Swimming Hole
  • Hike (3-4 miles)
  • Lunch on the trail
  • Return to Basecamp/Cook Dinner
  • Backpacking Talk/Lesson
Thursday
  • Cook Breakfast
  • Breakdown Camp
  • Pack backpacking backpacks
  • Drive to Walls of Jericho
  • Backpack down (3 Miles)
