Travel-Study Opportunities

See the World with Webb

World language travel and study through cultural exchange allows Webb students to “go to the world”, enrich their language skills, explore new places, and serve others. Webb also fosters exchange programs that bring global students to our campus community.

Webb offers several opportunities for travel abroad each year, organized by faculty both within and beyond the Department of World Languages. These programs are typically scheduled around school holidays and summer break so as to not interfere with students’ academic studies.

Middle School Trips

Each spring, middle school students have the opportunity to take a 3-4 day trip to a major city in the US to extend their learning beyond the walls of the classroom. Past trips have included destinations such as Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago, and Charleston.

Past Travel-Study Opportunities

Greece

Greece was the destination for 25 students and four faculty members during spring break in March 2024. The group traveled through the country visiting Athens, Delphi, the Thermopylae and Meteora Region, Thessaloniki, Dion and other sites visiting museums, villages, archaeological parks, a monastery and battle site. While in Athens during independence day, they visited the Acropolis Museum and saw the independence day parade.

Winter 2022

Québec City

Winter break for a group of Webb students meant traveling to Quebec with French teacher Jason Simpson in February. The group enjoyed Quebec City, Martello Tower, and Sainte-Anne de Beaupre Basilica. Also on the itinerary were Montmorency Falls Park, shopping at the Galeries de la Capitale mall, Hotel de Glace, snow tubing at the Valcartier winter sports village, crafting at the Albert Gilles copper museum, dogsledding, a tour of the Vieux Quebec, and Huron-Wendat Village.
