Oct. 1 Update:
Conner Brown, a sophomore at The Webb School, finished in fifth place in his first TSSAA State Golf Tournament shooting par in the two-day tournament held at Willow Brook Golf Club in Manchester on Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Playing in the individual competition, he turned in a one-under-par 71 on the first day and one over the second day for a final score of 144.
Brown’s playing partner, Patton Samuels, a sophomore at Clarksville Academy, won the tournament carding five-under-par 67 and three-under-par 69 for a 136 total in the tournament. The six top golfers, not on the regions’ tournament winning teams, competed in the individual class at state.

Brown qualifies for state as individual
Conner Brown, a member of The Webb School varsity golf team, was one of two golfers who qualified for the state tournament at the 2019 TSSAA Division II, Class A, Middle Region - Golf Tournament on Sept. 23. Webb hosted the region at River Bend Country Club, Shelbyville, Tenn. The state tournament is slated for Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the 18-hole WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester, Tenn.
Brown turned in a 73 round, while the other individual qualifier Patton Samuels of Clarksville Academy shot 70.
Also headed to state are the top two teams in the region competition – first place Battle Ground Academy with a 301 score and second place Franklin Road Academy, 312.
