Noli Res Subdole Facere
Do nothing on the sly
This simple, direct statement forms the foundation of our Honor Code and is our school’s motto. The sentence was a frequent admonition from our school’s founder, Sawney Webb.
The Honor Code is a means of ensuring the highest standard of personal integrity among Webb students. Violations to the Honor Code include cheating, stealing, plagiarism, and lying.
The Honor Pledge is signed by all students. It states: "I pledge my word of honor as a Webb gentleman or lady that I will not lie, cheat, or steal."
The Honor Pledge
When you join our community, you will participate in our longest standing tradition - the signing of the Honor Pledge. We ask you to make this public commitment to not lie, cheat, or steal. That shared commitment unites our community and forges a culture of trust, freedom, security, and academic integrity seen and felt across our campus.
You’ll reaffirm this commitment to the Honor Code on each test and assignment.
"For me the honor code helps support me in doing what I usually know to be right, but what can be difficult to actually go through with in complicated situations. It helps me stick to my moral principles and know that everyone around me in the Webb community is doing the same."

The Honor Council
The Honor Council is the oldest student organization on campus. Students are elected to the Honor Council annually by their classmates. Honor Council members are responsible not only for upholding the Honor Code through personal example but also for educating the student body in the finer points of honorable behavior. The Honor Council investigates violations of the Honor Code and recommends penalties for offenders to the Head of School.
