Dave Trout

The Webb School held a Field Preview event on Friday, September 20, unveiling exciting updates to its baseball and softball facilities. The event at the renovated softball field attracted students, parents, alumni, and supporters. Key speakers included Head of School Ken Cheeseman, Director of Athletics Jena Jones, and Webb Trustee Jeffrey Howard.

The new facilities feature a state-of-the-art hitting facility with multiple batting cages, pitching lanes for year-round training, and a clubhouse under construction with concessions, locker rooms, restrooms, offices, and a press box. The softball field is also receiving seating and safety upgrades, including a brick knee wall and 30-foot-high backstop.

Cheeseman emphasized the school's commitment to both athletic and academic excellence, while Jones highlighted the enhanced training opportunities. Howard noted how these investments align with Webb’s mission of fostering leadership.

With a fundraising goal of $1.5 million, The Webb School invites the community to participate in making these dreams a reality. Naming opportunities are available for key areas, including the hitting facility, clubhouse, dugouts, and more, providing donors with a unique way to leave a lasting legacy.

The evening concluded with a football game, where Webb triumphed over Middle Tennessee Christian School with a final score of 34-21, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the night.
