The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) recently recognized nine Varsity sports teams from The Webb School for their impressive work inside the classroom during the second semester of the 2025–26 academic year.

Girls’ basketball and softball received the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award for earning a team GPA above 3.0. Meanwhile, seven additional teams across Webb's Winter and Spring athletic seasons also received the Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Award for earning a team GPA above 3.25. They are: Boys’ Basketball, Boys’ Tennis, Girls’ Tennis, Baseball, Boys’ Soccer, Boys’ Track & Field and Girls’ Track & Field.

Only those sports sanctioned by the TSSAA are eligible for this recognition.

In addition to team awards, the TSSAA recognized individual student-athletes who completed the second semester with a GPA of 3.5 or greater. From the 2025–26 Winter season, 15 athletes representing Webb's Varsity Basketball Program earned the Award of Merit, with six obtaining a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

From the School's Spring athletic teams, 64 athletes met the minimal standard, and 39 earned a GPA of at least 4.0. The Girls' Track & Field team performed exceptionally well in the classroom, with over 86% of the roster earning individual recognition and 73% a minimum 4.0 GPA.

“Our Winter and Spring seasons were incredibly successful in terms of their victories in competition, so to see what these student-athletes were able to do in the classroom is even more impressive,” said James Garcia, Interim Director of Athletics. “I am grateful to the work that our faculty and advisors did to support our boys and girls so that they could be at their very best, on and off the field. I am thankful for the amazing experience that The Webb School provides to all of our student-athletes.”
