The Webb School hosted the 5th Annual Fleet Feet Invitational on Friday, April 17, with nine high schools competing in the varsity track and field event on Webb’s own Lagler Field. From the Feet, the girls delivered a strong performance, including a 4th-place team finish overall.

The meet also served as Senior Night for Webb’s varsity track and field athletes, honoring Class of 2026 graduates Tayler Church, Steven Ennis and Amelie Taucare for their dedication and contributions to the program. Notably, Taucare’s participation this season marks the conclusion of her 12th Varsity sports season at the high school level — an impressive testament to her commitment and athletic versatility. 

Throughout the Fleet Feet Invite, several Webb athletes earned top-five finishes, with the top three in each event receiving medals. Leading the way was Mary Myers ’28, who claimed 1st place in the girls’ 3200m with a time of 12:09.82. Khyland Corlew ’27 also earned a 2nd-place finish in the boys’ 400m (56.35) and took 4th in the 200m (24.64).

Additional standout performances were had by Elisabeth Nguyen ’27 with 4th in the girls’ 100m (14.38); Gabby Dooley ’28 with 3rd in the girls’ 100m hurdles (22.09) and 4th in the 300m hurdles (1:10.68); Gabby McArthur ’29 with 3rd in the 300m hurdles (1:02.47); and Tula Sublette ’29 with 4th (1:10.55) in the girls’ 400m. The latter was followed closely by Andre Balascio ’29, who crossed the line 5th (1:11.44) in the girls' 400m. 

On the relay side, the girls’ 4x200 team of Balascio, Janae Carey ’28, Nguyen and Taucare earned a 3rd-place finish in 2:06.22, while the 4x100 team, including Carey, Balascio, Christie Thomas ’27 and Sublette placed 5th (57.73). Finally, Taucare earned 4th in the discus with a throw of 72-6.5, and Nguyen finished 3rd in the long jump (14-1) in the afternoon’s field events.
