Members of the Class of 2024 were guests at the annual Senior Luncheon on May 17 in the William Bond Library. The event, hosted by the Office of Alumni and Development and the school's Alumni Association, was attended by several members of the Alumni Board, Head of School Ken Cheeseman, leadership team members and advisors to the senior class.
Director of Alumni and Development Leigh Adams welcomed guests and introduced members of the Alumni Board attending including President Libby Willis '80, Vice President Kaleb Tilton '12, as well as members of the A&D staff.
Kevin Finn, Webb English teacher, was selected by the senior class to be the guest speaker. As part of his remarks, Finn told the seniors, “Windows are a lens of sort through which we view the world, and no matter what your time here at Webb has been like, it is a lens through which your future experiences will be refracted.”
Also participating in the program were Alumni Board member Tilton who gave the charge and welcome into the Alumni Association. Tilton shared with the class, "In your next phases of life, opportunities will present themselves to you based on your level of work and commitment to your work. Be open to these opportunities and don’t be afraid to take a chance. Trust your gut – your intuition. Your time at Webb has created a foundation of integrity. Continue building on this foundation and good things will happen."
Samantha Kirby and Sydney Gilley, both of Manchester, Tenn., were announced as the 2024 Class Agents.
The A&D staff collected updated email addresses and college matriculation, and the program closed with the 2024 graduates receiving a gift from the Alumni Board. Seniors wore their college of choice shirts and hoodies for photos after the luncheon and then attended Senior Chapel before heading off to Senior Survival the following day.
