Dual Enrollment Overview

In partnership with Lipscomb University Online, Webb School is pleased to offer a variety of elective courses. These courses are offered online during a Free Period and are taken in Bond Library with College Counselors serving as contacts. Each class is eight weeks (lasting one quarter), is given one full credit on Webb’s transcript, and an Honors Class weighting of .5 points per class.

Admission Requirements

Lipscomb requests a GPA of 3.0 and an ACT of 21 or SAT of 1060.

Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant

There is no cost for dual enrollment courses for Tennessee residents. For non-Tennessee residents, $582.75 per course is billed to your student account.

Tennessee residents will complete the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant application on the first day of the course. This application must be completed every year. To apply for the Dual Enrollment Grant, please create a TSAC Student Account through the portal found here. After clicking "Register" make certain you have access to your social security number. College Counseling is happy to help if you have questions.

Course Offerings for 2024 - 2025

Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism

This course teaches students how to identify, develop, and promote tourism and hospitality products and services. Issues such as marketing, sales, advertising, and promotion for the tourism and hospitality industry will be explored, along with basic planning and financial topics. Special emphasis will be placed on the impact of entertainment and the arts to the industry.

Principles of Business

This course provides an initial exposure to business principles in a free enterprise economy, within the context of a Christian worldview. Students acquire the foundational understanding and skills needed to successfully complete higher-level business curriculum, in preparation for a robust business career. The curriculum focuses on the role of business in the economy, developing a working business vocabulary, and the scriptural perspective on business and commerce.

Introduction to Communications

Economic Concepts for Leaders

This course includes basic principles in the context of macroeconomics and microeconomics for leaders. Macroeconomic concepts studied in this course include the following: modern society and government policy, national income accounting, output determination, fiscal policy, the banking system and international trade. Microeconomic concepts introduced in this course include the following: modern society and business, scarcity and allocation of resources, supply and demand, American and global economies, and resource markets.

Introduction to Accounting

This course will provide a study of the basic concepts of financial accounting and an overview of how accounting contributes to an organization and its stakeholders. Course work covers the development of financial statements and the use of financial information for decision making and effective financial management. It will introduce the fundamentals of financial accounting necessary to enhance organizational performance. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening the students’ ability to interpret and apply financial information as opposed to an in-depth study and application of accounting theory and practice.
