Ret. Lt. Colonel Larry Bornstein attended the ceremony and presented Carter Sublette with his certificate of acceptance to the United States Military Academy West Point.

The Carl Mallory Harwell III Memorial Award
This award is presented by the Harwell family to that junior who has demonstrated an interest and proficiency in public affairs, politics, and journalism.

The Albert Duling Incentive Award
This award is presented to that student, regardless of age or grade level, who has demonstrated his or her ability to overcome adversity during the school year just concluded; and this student has indicated a growing awareness of and commitment to Webb School’s ideals and standards.

This award goes to that student who best combines an appreciation of music and foreign language.

John Freeman Athletic Award
The John Freeman Athletic Award is given annually to the upper school student(s) who best model the joy of sport and competition, a high level of effort and achievement, a keen sense of integrity and sportsmanship. A youngster who exemplifies playing the game with honest zest and a ready smile.

The Dale Hyatt Memorial Award
The Dale Hyatt Memorial Award is presented to two upper school athletes who demonstrate honor, pride, and a genuine love of athletics. This student exhibits all of the characteristics of good sportsmanship. The athlete is selfless and generous in helping other Webb athletes to excel. This athlete shows respect for players, coaches, and officials, and maintains a good sense of humor.

Brandeis Book Award for Social Action and Civic Engagement
This award recognizes an outstanding high school junior committed to social action or civic
engagement. The recipient must be in the top 10% of the class and demonstrate commitment.:

This award recognizes an outstanding high school junior who exemplifies the best characteristics of Benjamin Franklin, the founder of the University. The purpose of the award is three-fold: to recognize outstanding students whose individual accomplishments embody the University’s highest ideals of scholarship, service, future professional development, and civic contribution.

University of Virginia Book Award
The Jefferson Book Award was established to recognize outstanding high school juniors or students in the next-to-graduating class who embrace creativity and innovation, and embody the spirit of discovery, much like the University’s founder, Thomas Jefferson. The student is a demonstrated citizen leader who works to improve their community locally or globally.

Harvard Book Prize
This award goes to the outstanding student in the junior class who combines excellence in scholarship and high character, combined with achievement in other fields.

Alla Webb Cord Presentation
In fall of this school year, a group of exceptional students were inducted into membership in the inaugural year of the Alla Webb Scholars program. Students selected for this recognition are not only academically strong, but they are true Webb ladies and gentlemen, who have demonstrated their commitment to the school and to causes or activities outside of just their academics.
