The Webb Company Players presented four sold-out performances of Pride and Prejudice in the Black Box Studio from November 13 to November 16, 2025. This stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel features a script by Jon Jory and soundtrack by Peter Ekstrom. The Company Players embraced Jory’s approach with creativity, allowing the intimate Black Box space to meet the story’s shifting worlds with charm and ingenuity.

This timeless classic follows the clever Elizabeth Bennet (Mary-Lane Taylor ’27) as she navigates a life full of family expectations, social pressures, and surprising turns that contradict first impressions. Her evolving relationship with the reserved and seemingly aloof Mr. Darcy (Rasmus Wolter ’27) becomes the heart of the narrative, revealing the power of understanding. Along the way, the Bennet family encounters love, mischief and the comedic complications that arise when pride meets prejudice.
The production was led by Director Ruth Cordell alongside Associate Director Maryanna Walton. Senior Rin French oversaw stage management and sound. Both Jessie Felder ’26 and Christie Thomas ’27 led the show’s backstage grip and lighting support, and additional backstage and remote lighting assistance was provided by Gillian O’Connell ’29. On the technical team, O’Connell was joined by Haven Joyner ’26, Sierra Werner ’29, Celeste Robins ’29, Sophia Strahin ’29, Jaden Dickens ’27, Hudson Webb ’27 and Samuel Wilson ’29. Makeup for the show was managed collaboratively by juniors Cara Lowry and Nova Northcutt as well as members of the cast and crew. Finally, house management was coordinated by Northcutt and Lilah Lawson ’27.
