Dedication of the Molly Miller Alspaugh '84 Piano Room
Dave Trout

The Webb School piano room in the Lundin Fine Arts Center has been named in honor of the loving memory of Class of 1984 alumna Molly Miller Alspaugh.  In a dedication ceremony on October 26, 2024, the administration of The Webb School and Mrs. Alspaugh's family gathered to reflect on her life, her love of music, and the affinity she had for the school.  Mrs. Alspaugh passed away on March 6, 2024 at the age of 57.

"Molly always spoke so highly of The Webb School and credited the school for her success in her college and career life," shared Eric, surviving husband of Mrs. Alspaugh.  "Of all the organizations and institutions she's been a part of, she puts her roots here at The Webb School as what led and guided her through her life."

A new plaque has been installed just outside the piano room on the walls of the Lundin Fine Arts Center "honoring [Mrs. Alspaugh's] love of music and of the school."

Ken Cheeseman, Head of School, shared these remarks: "As we dedicate this room to Molly, there is going to be inspiration for years and years to come.  Her memory lives on, not only in your family, but it's going to live on at Webb forever."

"We certainly appreciate this wonderful gift in Molly's memory," stated Jonathon Hawkins, Director of Alumni and Development.  "I have been talking to several alums, and there were many comments about Molly playing piano in chapel and that is how they remember her. What a wonderful legacy she has left at Webb."
