April Citizenship Awards presented to three middle school students

Every month, three middle school students are chosen for Citizenship Awards. Award certificates are presented in chapel along with remarks read by Middle School Director Mallory Garcia.

The April award recipients are 8th graders Corbin Riley and Gillian O'Connell and 6th grader Rosemary Hanemann.

"Corbin Riley is a quiet, solid student who completes his work on time and earns high grades. He is kind, polite, respectful to adults and his peers, and always willing to go above and beyond. Corbin is an excellent example of a Webb gentleman," said John Walters, history teacher.

"Gillian is a wonderful student not only to teach but to know. I want to specifically recognize her contribution to the spring play. The actors are not the only people that stay after school and work tirelessly on weekends. The tech booth is also a very important part of the production, and Gillian contributed to that behind the scenes work. Her care for the arts community is appreciated every day, so we wanted to recognize her for all of her hard work," said Bella Crow, visual arts teacher.

"Rosemary is a thoughtful and kind young lady who is always looking out for other people's interests. She is a friend to all she meets and is always willing to help out and lend a hand to those in need. Rosemary is concerned about the people around her as well as the animals and the plants! She is a nurturing person who seeks to do good. Rosemary's consideration for others is evident in the classroom, hallways, dining hall and beyond," said Lea Anne Windham, math teacher.
