The Middle School years at Webb offer endless opportunities for students to ignite their curiosities, follow their passions and grow independently. On Friday, May 15, 2026, Webb’s sixth and seventh-grade families and faculty gathered in the Follin Chapel for a Book Awards Ceremony celebrating each student’s tireless work in achieving their goals during the 2025–26 academic year.
For each course taught in the Middle School at Webb, faculty are responsible for choosing the top students to receive a Book Award in recognition of their academic excellence.

Before formally recognizing select students with awards, Middle School Head Mallory Garcia took a moment to commend every student in our community who spent “this year learning, growing and becoming a better version of themselves through their perseverance and dedication to their academics, arts, and athletics activities, as well as how they treat others,” she said in her opening address.
In addition to honoring this year’s Book Award recipients (see below), Special Awards were presented to Sam Cantrell ’32 and Atticus Loose ’32 for their Rubik’s Cube ability. Loose likewise earned the Larry Nichols Geography Award — presented annually to the student who demonstrates a love for Geography and a standard of excellence in character and leadership. Finally, Charlotte Duncan ’31 earned the 2026 “Grit” Award, given to the student who has demonstrated consistent perseverance and persistence in academics to find success at Webb.

New this academic year, Middle School students were also required to fulfill a community service requirement, with the following individuals recognized for going above and beyond, and earning more than 20 community service hours each in the program’s first year: Deacon Allen ’32, Lucille Coleman ’31, Ava Dixon ’31, Cadence Garcia ’31, Ella Ledbetter ’31, Hannah Belle McGear ’31, Amelia Threet ’32, Jack Toy ’31 and Lyla Victory ’31.
To close the ceremony, National Junior Honor Society honor cords were presented to five deserving Middle School students not only for their scholarship, but also for their leadership, service, character and citizenship. They include Avery Blackwell ’31, Ava Dixon, Cadence Garcia, K.J. Moody ’31 and Catherine Myers ’31.
Congratulations to all of our Middle Schoolers on shining bright this academic year at Webb!
