The Webb School is the oldest continuously operating boarding school in the South.
Our school was founded in August 1870 by William “Sawney” Webb in Culleoka, Tennessee. In 1896 Sawney moved the school to Bell Buckle, Tennessee, where we’ve remained since. Over our 155 year history, Webb has expanded to 150 acres and 420 students, but we still hold true to our founding principles of personal integrity, honor, and character.
Our student body represents students from 10 states and 25 countries.
You are welcome here.
At Webb, you are part of a global community that celebrates and values each other’s unique perspectives, values, and cultural differences.
Living and learning with classmates from different backgrounds and cultures helps our students develop a better understanding of others and themselves and strengthens their ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead.
Centrally located, but a world away.
Bell Buckle is known for its festivals and artists. It’s a quiet, eclectic town of just 420 residents. The downtown area is just a short walk down the hill from Webb and includes many student-favorite spots like the Bell Buckle Coffee Shop, Bell Buckle Cafe, and the Bluebird Ice Cream Parlor. There are many charming inns and Airbnbs available in town for parent visits.
Fostering a
