Financial Aid
Webb’s need-based financial aid program is made possible by gifts from alumni, family, and friends of the school. It also reflects the School’s desire to make a Webb education affordable for families. Webb, like many independent schools around the country, uses the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) to determine affordability.
Applying for Financial Aid
SSS will start accepting applications on November 1, 2012. We strongly suggest that you apply for financial aid by our priority deadline of February 15, 2013. Please apply online at sss.nais.org/parents. Once your register your online account, you will be able to save your application as you progress through it. There is a non-refundable fee of $35 and online applications are usually processed within 72 hours. In addition, families will be required to submit a copy of their 2012 1040 tax return W-2 statements as well as any other schedules filed.
Making a Financial Aid Award
Your Parent Financial Statement (PFS) is verified with your tax return and then, after your child has been accepted, reviewed by the financial aid committee. The committee will also consider the potential for income to be earned by a non-working parent. The decision for an award is based on the affordability determined by your PFS and the funds available in our budget.
It is very important to note that applying for financial aid has no bearing upon the Admissions Committee’s deliberation and assessment of student’s potential as a Webb student. Decisions regarding admission to Webb and eligibility for financial aid are made independently of each other.
All financial information is kept confidential and must be on file before our office can consider a financial award. Financial aid forms must be re-submitted each year and awards will be reevaluate on an annual basis. If you have any questions or need assistance with your forms please contact our office at 931-389-6003.
