International students and their families participated in a special orientation day on Aug. 11 in advance of the Aug. 12 orientation for all new students and their families.
The families had lunch hosted by Head of School Ray Broadhead and his wife, Leone, a science faculty member, at their home on campus. They also visited with and received information from representatives of various Webb departments including: academics, business office, residential life, English Language Learner program and communications.
Saturday's orientation for all new boarding and day students and their families will include additional presentations, middle school and upper school parent meetings, class schedule tours, lunch and a dessert reception so each student and his or her parents can meet the student's advisor. A special activity is planned for all new students, there will be a Welcome Address by the head of school, and the day will be capped with a dinner for all new and returning students and parents.
Classes begin Aug. 14 with a special schedule for the first day that begins with chapel.
