Students from grades 6-12 come seeking college preparatory school education in liberal arts at Webb from all over the world. The 150-acre campus is located in a rural setting 50 miles southeast of Nashville. Approximately one-third of the school's student population is boarding students. At present, the school enrolls students from 15 U.S. states and 17 countries.
A full-time position for teaching faculty at The Webb School includes the following requirements:
●A teaching load of up to five classes (45 or 85 minutes per class meeting, each class meets four days per week)
●Coaching or working directly with other afternoon activities (afternoon program, drama, community service, etc.) for two of three athletic seasons
●Working with 8-10 advisees.
●Faculty presence is encouraged at all school events.
For this position, we prefer an engaging, experienced teacher who embraces creative thinking and personal expression. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching studio art to middle and high school students. This position may require physical activity which includes occasional bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Additionally, this position may involve living in residential housing and dormitory supervision.
Qualified candidates for this position will have at least a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education or a related field. The position begins contractually on August 1, 2018.
