Founded in 1870, The Webb School is a private boarding school in Bell Buckle, Tenn. Students from grades 6-12 come seeking college preparatory school education in liberal arts at Webb from all over the world. With 10 Rhodes Scholars among its graduates and consistently high SAT scores, The Webb School has a reputation of being one of the top private schools in the nation. Webb’s small school community, comprised of an average enrollment of 315 day school and boarding school students, and its emphasis on honor truly creates a Character of Home. The 150-acre campus is located in a rural setting 50 miles southeast of Nashville. At present, the school enrolls students from 15 countries and 14 U.S. states.

The Webb School is searching for an experienced person to fill the position of Head Middle School Boys’ Basketball Coach for the 2017-2018 school year. At this time there are no full-time teaching positions. This is a part-time coaching only position. Position Summary:

The Director of Leadership Annual Giving manages a portfolio of 250-500 prospects and solicits gifts $1,000-$10,000 per year. In addition, this position manages solicitations for the entire group of Webb Fund donors who give more than $1,000 per year. It is a full-time, calendar year position. The position involves all aspects of external relations, including face-to-face fundraising.This position is FLSA salaried-exempt, and compensation is based on experience and qualifications of the candidate. Webb alumni are encouraged to apply.

Specific duties and responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of donors, reaching individual goals for dollars, visits and donors to The Webb Fund

Complete 150 face-to-face solicitations of individuals annually

Identify, solicit, and manage portfolio prospects individually

Ensure 100% of all assigned leadership annual donors are solicited individually

Travel to cities across the country to meet with donors face-to-face

Identify major gift and planned gift donors through personal visits

Track fundraising results using Raiser’s Edge database

Serve as key liaison for external relations, and create opportunities for involvement and engagement

Regularly attend events to get to know alumni, parents, and friends of the school

Work with other fundraisers in the A&D Office to coordinate fundraising trips

Provide input and write copy for occasional news stories for website and school magazine

Work a flexible schedule (weekend and nights as needed) and perform other duties as identified by the Head of School or the Director of Alumni and Development

Qualifications and skills

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

3 years fundraising experience, or related experiences

Strong organizational, interpersonal, computer, and writing skills

Familiarity with, and appreciation for the mission and culture of an independent school

Able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed without constant supervision

Able to carry out written or oral instruction and handle and resolve recurring problems
