VolunteerSpot

PAWS has made volunteering easier. The group is utilizing VolunteerSpot that enables PAWS to quickly coordinate volunteers and mobilize for a variety of events and projects. Volunteers can sign up for shifts online and get a brief explanation of the responsibilities of a volunteer for a particular project.  Then one day before the event or project, volunteers who have signed up will receive an e-mail reminder. VolunteerSpot allows PAWS to add activities as needed, and organize and maintain lists for multiple events. Please contact PAWS’ officers if you have any questions about using VolunteerSpot. PAWS - Athletic Booster Club

 Paws W.jpg

PAWS is a spirited community of parents who help encourage school spirit and support athletics at Webb School.  We recognize the many benefits athletics brings to our children’s development and that coaches cannot possibly carry out all the needed support required by a rigorous athletic schedule, our rural location and enrollment.

In support of student athletes, we:

·         Sponsor Team Parent Meetings so parents from many different communities can unite in support of their children’s team(s) and coaches

·         Support equipment, uniform and facilities improvement projects such as the Lagler Field Lighting Project and a proposed Field House equipped with restrooms, locker rooms, press box and concessions area

·         Sell spirit wear, operate a concessions stand and collect admissions fees at games to help fund facilities improvement projects

Parents can donate funds for building projects if they are geographically unable to volunteer. Parents who live nearby, can volunteer to:

·         Be a Team Parent and organize volunteers

·         Volunteer to work concessions or gate at home games

·         Help raise funds for facilities improvement projects

·         Gather information for team Rosters and Programs for games

·         Share your talents in public relations or technologies to help publicize PAWS events

·         Lead PAWS efforts as President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary of the organization

It is an exciting time at The Webb School and we encourage you to get involved with PAWS.  It is a great way to meet other parents, spend time with your child(ren) and support The Webb School.

PAWS kicks off football season with dinner

Doug Wilson, vice president of Parents of Athletes at Webb School (PAWS), welcomed a large group to this year's annual kickoff dinner for the Webb football team, hosted on Aug. 14. Wilson spoke to the group about PAWS, and Coach David Forrest and his staff gave a preview of the season.

Katie Morris, mother of Ben Morris, volunteered as the varsity parent coordinator, and Richard Watson, father of Wes Watson, will be the middle school coordinator. It was reported that the light poles for Lagler Field have been delivered and are being readied for installation. The first varsity game is Aug. 17, at 4:30 p.m., at home against Lighthouse Christian.

At the end of the meeting there was a potluck dinner furnished by the parents.
