A Brief History..... Mostly Correct
The Webb School Parents Association was formed just 13 short years ago. The purpose was to act as a liaison between parents and teachers and to provide a little extra care for the boarding students. Initially the activities included the snack depot during exams and decorating the campus at Christmas. Within a couple of years the teacher appreciation baskets were added. Four years ago, in response to growing needs at the school for classroom enhancements the live/silent auction fundraiser was initiated. The desire was to provide enrichment for the teachers, in the classrooms and on the campus.
The response to the auction was overwhelmingly positive from the beginning. Continued enthusiasm and support from parents, staff, alumni and trustees has allowed over $50,000 to go back to The Webb School providing direct benefit to the students and faculty. Over the years, the Parents Association has been able to contribute $4,000 to the Wayne Rogers Scholarship Fund, $3,000 to renovate and redecorate the Administration Building, $3,000 for computers in the Bond Library to name just a few contributions, and provide much-needed campus lighting.
For a school so rich and long in history the Parents Association has lost no time in establishing itself as a positive organization whose only purpose is to enhance the "Webb Experience" for all.
