Webb heads to State

Posted February 27, 2010

Webb's boys' varsity basketball team pulled out all the stops on Saturday, Feb. 27, to beat Lausanne Collegiate School 37-36 in the Division II-A sub-state tourney. The Feet will now head to state competition.

On Thursday, March 4, Webb will play University School of Nashville at the state semifinals at Lipscomb University in Nashville. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. The state finals are set for 1 p.m. on Saturday March 6 at Lipscomb.

Raymond Pryor, longtime Webb Feet fan who traveled to Lausanne's home court in Memphis for Saturday's game, said Webb's Logan Burchett scored a layup on an assist from Miles Davis that put The Feet up by one point with less than a minute left on the clock. Webb's defense was able to prevent Lausanne from scoring again.

According to Webb's varsity head coach Jeff Mitchell, the boys' team has never before made it past the sub-state round to the State Final Four contest.

Webb placed third in its regular season with a league record of 9 wins and 2 losses. The Feet’s current overall record is 20-8.
