Two students and string instructor, Susan Mullen, performed in concert with the orchestra from the University of the South on Oct. 21.
Sally Huh, cellist from Seoul, South Korea, is a junior and currently enrolled in The Webb School’s String Orchestra. She was recommended to participate by Mullen. Sallie Carter '12, from Murfreesboro, is a freshman at the University of the South majoring in classic studies.
The orchestra in Sewanee, under the baton of Joe Lee, is comprised of students, faculty members and professional musicians from the area. The concert featured the Sewanee Jazz Ensemble in the first half of the program. The orchestra then performed a concert of music from film, including "Schinder’s List," "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone" and "Pirates of the Caribbean."
Webb English instructor, Mary Jo Johnson, drove a vanload of students to the concert.
