SAIS/AdvancEd re-accreditation team to visit Webb on Oct. 23-25

A SAIS/AdvancEd re-accreditation team will visit The Webb School on Oct. 23-25 as part of an evaluation process conducted every five years to maintain accreditation. The Southern Association of Independent Schools/AdvancEd designation is a dual re-accreditation, and results of Webb’s application for re-accreditation will be available in approximately 6-8 weeks.

The re-accreditation process includes a self-study and peer review. The Webb staff has been preparing self-study documents for this visit since last year under the direction of Kelly Northrup, Webb Latin teacher and Webb’s re-accreditation coordinator.

“After six months of preparing for this visit, we are excited for the team to come,” said Northrup. “It will be a great culmination to all of our efforts thus far.”

The visiting group, which consists of five members from other southeastern independent schools, has reviewed Webb’s standards and goals for school improvement as contained in the self-study. The team’s visit to campus is to confirm that Webb meets the standards of accreditation, and has a plan and the necessary resources for school improvement.

“We look forward to this opportunity to “show off” Webb to colleagues from other schools,” said Ray Broadhead, Webb head of school.
