Volunteer Girls State participants announced

Ellie Knox and Caitie Connor, both of Murfreesboro, recently were selected to represent The Webb School at the 2012 Volunteer Girls State. Knox will be unable to attend, and alternate, Jami Averwater, of Eagleville, will attend along with Connor. Marina Kiser, of Christiana, was also selected as an alternate.
Slated for May 27-June 2, rising seniors from across the state will gather at Lipscomb University in Nashville for training in leadership and citizenship. Participants operate a mock government, develop party platforms, write legislation and debate issues such as education, health care and budgets on the city, county and state levels.
