Webb "mini-reunion" in Germany (1999, 2000)
Posted January 2, 2012
Webb alumni Liza Palmer '99, Steve Reay '99, and Franzi Schaefermeyer got together last September... in Germany!
Franzi writes:
Liza and I have stayed in contact since 1999, when I left Webb. I have already visited her three times in Tennessee. She always wanted to come to Germany and this year it finally happened. It was just for a weekend but it was worth it. She came with her boyfriend Danny on Saturday 24th to Berlin. Steve Reay came from London on the same day, too. I picked them up at the airport.
We talked a lot about Webb and about our great time we had in 1998 and 1999. During this time I was a Junior and Steve and Liza were a Senior. Of course we talked about the other “Webbies” and Liza told me how much the campus changed.
Liza is living right now in Murfreesboro, Steve in London, and I live in Berlin. I showed them Berlin and on Saturday we went out. On Sunday we went on a ferry boat and did some sightseeing. Steve flew back to London on Sunday, and Liza and Danny flew to Rome on Monday.
It was so good the see them. Even if it has been 12 years since I have been at Webb, I remember my experiences and it is great having such good old friends from the USA with whom I can easily catch up again.
For my part I say many Greetings to the class of 1999 (Liza`s and Steve`s year) and to the class of 2000. If anybody wants to come to Berlin, there is always a stay in my apartment and Berlin is such a fun city.
I miss the “city” of Bell Buckle.
Cheers,
Frances
