Dear Webb community,

School is back in session in Bell Buckle for the 2016-2017 academic year, and 315 Webb students are walking our campus with the same sense of nervousness and excitement that I felt when I first came to Webb as a 7th grade boarding student almost 30 years ago. Now in its 147th year, The Webb School continues to provide Webb students an education and preparation for life, both in and out of the classroom, by inspiring confident learners and providing an environment which fosters honor, character and excellence. I ask you to join me in helping start the new academic year off right by making a gift to The Webb Fund in support of our Webb faculty and students. Click here to make an online gift today.

Gifts to The Webb Fund help provide funding for faculty compensation, financial aid, athletics, visual and performing arts, music instruction, and student clubs. One of the reasons that I first chose to give to The Webb Fund years ago was because I learned that my gift could support the Quiz Bowl team, a program that I greatly benefited from during my time at Webb. Long-standing campus programs such as Trap and Skeet, Outerlimits/W.I.L.D., (Wilderness Instruction Leadership Development), the student newspaper, The Oracle, continue to grow through annual giving to The Webb Fund.

Each person shares the responsibility and honor of serving others is one of Webb’s enduring understandings. I chose to serve as Chair of The Webb Fund so that I could give back to the school that gave so much to me. To further encourage 100% participation of the Webb community in support of our annual fund, on Sawney Webb’s birthday, November 11th, we will celebrate the incomparable legacy he built and the school we all treasure with a community-wide Webb Give Day. Look for the announcements on how you can participate in the Webb celebration on 11/11! If you have any questions or would like to reconnect, feel free to contact me by email at bblakeley@metzlerna.com.

Sincerely,

Ben Blakeley ’93

Frequently Asked
Questions

What is The Webb Fund?

The Webb Fund is a voluntary giving program. Thanks to the generosity of many donors, Webb receives gifts that help underwrite the core functions of the school. Donations provide the school with flexibility to meet critical needs as they arise, and allow the school to offer programs and activities beyond what is budgeted from tuition. Gifts to The Webb Fund, along with tuition and endowment income, comprise the three major sources of funding for the school. Because Webb is an independent school, it does not receive public funding for its programs.
